Veterans Count holds winter events to support local veterans

Help the Easter Seals Veteran Count Program make a difference for local veterans with several upcoming fundraisers.

First up, the Hearts for Heroes event at Capital City Grange in Montpelier. The event is Feb. 10 from 6-9 pm. The evening will feature LC Jazz, a 21 piece Jazz Band, a taco bar by Mad Taco and a silent auction. Tickets are $40 a person, and can be purchased here.

Next, is the annual Calcutta event at the VFW Post 782 in Burlington. Test your luck and you could win the $1,000 grand prize. After dinner there will be a drawing of Calcutta balls. If your Calcutta ball number is called, you are out. If not you are still in the running for the grand prize. If your ball is the last one left, you are the lucky winner. The event is $50 a person and tickets can be purchased here. A buffet dinner for two and one Calcutta ball is included in the ticket price.

This year, Veterans also can enjoy a Ski Day at Sugarbush Resort on March 11. Veterans will be able to ski for free.

Veterans Count is a charity and assistance program for veterans and military families throughout New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
