This is the second year in a row the Vice President has vacationed in Vermont for Labor Day. It’s also the second year he’s stopped by the Sudberry Shoppe for a creemee.
“I’m like still shaking,” said Donna Hasfal, visiting from New York City.
Hasfal and her son Samuel ventured into the Green Mountains Saturday. Little did they know, they stopped at the same ice cream stand where Mike Pence happened to be enjoying a cone. The Vice President landed at Burlington International Airport Friday morning, before spending time with friends on Lake Hortonia.
“He decides he wants McDonald’s so I’m trying to find a McDonald’s somewhere on the lake,” Hasfal said. “This is the first place I came across, this ice cream shop, so I’m like ‘let’s stop here and get ice cream.’”
After posing for a photo together, Pence and his motorcade hit the road. When it came time for Hasfal to order, she tried exactly what the VP had, a maple creemee.
Pence returned to Washington D.C. shortly after his visit to the ice cream stand. He’s expected to travel to Poland in place of President Donald Trump who’s staying in the United States to monitor Hurricane Dorian.
