Vice President Stops for Breakfast at Café in Burlington

Vice President Joe Biden paid a surprise visit to a popular café in downtown Burlington.

Biden and Vermont U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy, along with Leahy’s wife, Marcelle, had breakfast at Penny Cluse Café Friday morning.

The unexpected visit was before Biden’s event at the University of Vermont—where he was scheduled to speak at 10 a.m.

The café said it typically doesn’t hold tables on a busy morning, but decided to make an exception.

“He was super sweet, he went around to all the tables, took pictures with everybody and shook hands and chatted with everyone, he was really nice,” said Penny Cluse Café Manager Dre Falzarano.

And we had to ask: what did Biden order? Blueberry pancakes with Vermont Maple Syrup! Delish!

Biden arrived in Vermont Thursday for a private fundraiser in Addison County. On Friday, he was at UVM speaking about the Obama administration’s cancer Moonshot initiative.
