HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (WFLA/CNN) – A Long Island fraternity has been suspended after a video involving a keg, a dog and a fraternity spread across the internet.
The video shows someone at an off-campus party picking up a dog and putting a beer dispenser into its mouth. Investigators say the owner of the King Charles Cavalier, a 21-year-old senior at Hofstra University and a member of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity, appears in the video.
Hofstra University suspended the fraternity’s chapter pneind an investigation, and a spokesman says the university has ordered all fraternity activities to “cease and desist.”
The Nassau County SPCA said the dog lived in the frat house and was in a good environment.
“That dog had no choice, it didn’t say, hey, I want a beer and I want it poured down my throat. So it’s wrong, on every level, it’s wrong and just irrational thinking,” said the SPCA’s Gary Rogers.
