Vermont State Police say a Richford man was cited after threatening to shoot a state trooper in the head.

Police say they were notified by staff at Northwestern Medical Center about a male who had been transported there earlier in the day had since escaped the emergency room.

State Police add the man, Ricky Tatro, 57, was running across the hospital campus and removing articles of clothing.

Eventually, police say Tatro compliantly returned to his room, but later threatened to shoot one of the responding Troopers in the head.

Tatro was immediately arrested without incident and transported to Northwest State Correctional Facility for detox.

He was issued a citation and is due to appear before Franklin County Superior Court on May 21st to answer the charge of Criminal Threatening.
