A Winooski woman accused of killing her two-year-old son has changed her plea.
According to court documents on Friday, thirty-year-old Nytosha Laforce pleaded no contest to manslaughter and child cruelty in the 2014 death of her son Peighton Geraw.
In 2014 police arrested and charged Laforce with second-degree murder for the death of her 14-month-old son. Emergency services responded to a report that 14-month baby boy Geraw stopped breathing at an address on Mallets Bay Avenue in Winooski. The child was brought to Fletcher Allen where he was pronounced dead.
Documents say Laforce was sentenced to six to fifteen years in prison and will not be discharged from probation until October of 2026.
