Three police chiefs represented Vermont in Washington D.C. Tuesday.

It was part of a briefing for law enforcement on how to implement recommendations for the President’s task force report on 21st Century policing. Burlington Police Chief Brandon del Pozo, Colchester Chief Jennifer Morrison, and Chief Robbie Bish of Woodstock attended.

“I wanted to attend this meeting at the White House with fellow Vermont Chiefs to learn about the resources available for implementing the innovations in the Task Force Report. We were honored to learn a few days ago that we had actually been identified as a leader in transparency, especially with citizen complaints and car stop race data, and the White House wanted the BPD to share its experiences with other agencies. We’re grateful to have a part in helping American policing meet the needs and expectations of Americans,” del Pozo said.

Chief del Pozo was also there to explain Burlington’s Police Transparency Portal to fellow chiefs.
