Weather: 10 Best Days? (8/25/2016)

Champlain Valley Fair Forecast for Friday August 26 2016

We’re still working a piece of disturbed weather across the northeast. It’s resulting in scattered showers and perhaps a rumble of thunder overnight. Severe weather is NOT a concern, sleep easy. Well, you should be able to sleep without any weather worries but it is going to be a bit muggy. Overnight lows will only fall into the 60s to near 70°; it’ll be muggier than Wednesday night.

A cold front will be moving into northern New York late Thursday & early Friday morning. Ahead of it, a line of showers and isolated thunder will be around for the Friday morning drive; it won’t be raining everywhere. It’ll all be moving quickly to the east and clearing will happen as the morning turns into the afternoon. We won’t tap into the cooler air until overnight Friday into Saturday. Because of that fact, Friday’s highs will still be quite warm in the low to mid 80s but humidity will be lower.

The Champlain Valley Fair…opens its gates at 3pm and the weather should be near perfect. It may be a little warm for some but the sun will be out and temperatures will be in the 80s. The sun goes down at 7:39pm, when it does, temperatures will steadily fall into the 60s & 70s. The first weekend of the fair is looking very nice as well! Saturday will be amazing, expect lots of sun with highs closing in on 80°. Sunday, we’ll watch clouds increase through the afternoon and evening with a small chance at showers later in the day. They won’t be enough to cancel any plans, have at it! Meanwhile, highs Sunday will be in the low 80s.

Sunday night, another cold front moves quickly across the area. Showers will linger into early Monday morning; lows will be in the low 60s. The sprint to September 1 on Thursday will be a quiet and smooth one. Each day will be partly to mostly sunny with highs near 80°. A weak disturbance may work to spark a shower or 2 late Wednesday and Thursday but right now I’m keeping the forecast dry. It’s just something to keep in the back of your mind.
