Rain is on the way! Throughout the day, rain with embedded heavy downpours will cross the northeast associated with a warm front that is shifting northward. Blustery winds out of the south at 15-20 mph, gusting occasionally to 30 mph, will make your Tuesday feel very raw and chilly, with temps in the 60’s.
Temperatures will continue to rise overnight and you’ll start to feel the muggies return. Rain wraps up for the most part late this evening, although a few scattered showers may linger overnight.
Your Wednesday gets underway with a mix of sun and clouds and a few scattered showers especially north during the morning hours. Temperatures climb all the way into the mid 70’s. A line of strong to severe storms will cross the region between 1 and 6 pm, bringing the threat for damaging winds heavy downpours and frequent lightning. The storm prediction center has highlighted the region under a slight risk for severe storms.
Behind the front things cool down and return to more seasonably fall weather. Thursday will feature mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 60’s
