Burlington got to 86° Tuesday afternoon. It was just a degree shy of tying a record high but still good enough for the 82nd day at or above 80° of the year. If you're sick of the heat, keep reading, the rest of this is loaded with fall-like goodness.
Tuesday night, temperatures drop and the wind picks up. North winds will be gusting near 15-25mph at times. Fog should be held to a minimum but there may be a few pockets of it in spots protected from the wind. Meanwhile, lows by morning will be quite refreshing, on either side of 50°. Wednesday and Thursday will be beautiful, cool, refreshing days. Expect a mix of sun and clouds each afternoon with highs in the middle & upper 60s.
Thursday night, a warm front lifts north and we get cloudy again with scattered showers. Lows will be warm, around 60°. Friday will be an interesting weather day. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will be around but it won't be raining all the time; peeks of sun will allow highs to get well into the 70s. Meanwhile, it'll be breezy, borderline windy. South/southwest winds will be gusting near 20-40mph. Keep all of this in mind for high school football, fields may be wet and kickers will have a hard time. A line of rain and embedded thunder will move through well after sunset. Within that line there maybe a few gusts over 50mph. The damaging wind potential is fairly low but is definitely something to monitor. Rain will end by Saturday morning, we will only be able to squeeze out about .25-.50" worth. That's not drought busting but it'll help, a little.
Saturday and Sunday are trending mainly dry and cooler under a mix of sun & clouds. Highs will be in the mid 60s with lows for most, in the upper 30s & low to mid 40s. The Northeast Kingdom and Adirondacks will drop into the upper 20s & low 30s Saturday night. That means frost!
I hope you're having a great week!
