So far, our weekend has been fantastic! After an afternoon filled with wall-to-wall sunshine, we can expect very similar conditions for Sunday. But, it will be noticeably cooler. Temperatures this afternoon were in the low 30s for many of us, tomorrow, it will be in the upper teens to lower 20s. Wrapping up the rest of our Saturday evening, clouds will continue to diminish, and temperatures will gradually fall into the single digits. Our quiet weather this weekend is part of an area of high pressure, these regions often provide clear skies and calm winds.
Heading hour by hour on our Sunday it’s fairly quiet, but, our region of high pressure will move off to the east. This will allow for high cirrus clouds to return during the mid-afternoon. Sunday night into Monday morning our next weather maker will approach southern New England, a low-pressure system. This will bring in scattered to widespread light snow, which shouldn’t cause too many travel concerns. The snow will have the best chance of accumulating south of Rutland County & Windsor County, and that should remain less than 1-2″.
Colder, but quiet weather will filter back in as early as Tuesday morning. Both Tuesday and Wednesday will feature a mixture of sunshine and a few clouds, along with colder than average daytime temperatures. Both days will see highs in the upper teens and lower 20s. What is beyond the midweek? That would be the next chance for a wintry mix, arriving on Thursday. With temperatures still flirting with the 32° mark, we will have to monitor what type of precip we could see… snow, sleet, or rain.
Tonight: A few clouds, then becoming mostly clear, and cold. Overnight low, single digits. Wind: North 10mph.
Sunday: Another beautiful, sunny, but colder day. Afternoon highs, upper teens to the lower 20s. Wind: North 5-8mph.
Sunday Night: Becoming mostly cloudy, isolated snow north, with scattered snow south. Overnight low, upper single digits to lower teens. Wind: North 10-15mph.
Monday: More clouds than sunshine, with scattered light snow. Minor snow accumulations north, with 1-2″ for southern Vermont & the Upper Valley. Afternoon highs, the lower 20s. Wind: North 5-10mph.
Monday Night: Partial clearing, overnight lows fall to either side of 0°. Wind: Northwest 5-8mph.
Tuesday & Wednesday: Mixture of sunshine and a few clouds, otherwise quiet. Afternoon highs, the upper teens and lower 20s. Overnight lows, single digits to the middle teens.
Have a great night!
