Good morning! Happy Friday!
The Arctic air persists into the last few days of 2017 and right into the New Year, too. Friday morning starts off between 5 and 20 degrees below zero, with an afternoon high temp in the single digits above zero. It is nearly calm today, though, so there’s not a wind chill factor to chat about, but it’s plenty cold. More clouds than sun with light snow falls north today into tonight, a dusting to an inch or an inch-and-a-half along the Canadian border. Tonight, partly to mostly cloudy with a low of -5° to -15°.
Saturday may also feature the occasional light snow shower or flurry under partly sunny skies, but it’s a tad milder. The temp maxes out around 10° with a light and variable wind. Sunday, partly to mostly sunny with a high temp near 0°.
If your New Year’s Eve plans take you anywhere but your sofa in your PJ’s, be safe! It will be dangerously cold once again as the temp plummets to the teens and 20s below zero. New Year’s Day features a high temp in the single digits on either side of zero.
Into the middle of next week, it warms just a tad with highs in the teens and light snow Wednesday and Thursday.
See you next year! Have a fun and safe weekend!
