Weather: MidWeek Forecast (8/16/16)

Good evening folks, moderate to heavy rain along with imbedded thunder is moving across the region. A cold front will continue to move east overnight, expect the moderate to heavy rain to last into the early hours of Wednesday. Areas across southern and central Vermont have received near 1-2 inches of rain since the past weekend with isolated higher amounts near 4 inches. Localized flooding (near poor drainage areas, and small creeks and streams possible) and, gusty wind as tonight’s primary threat. Come Wednesday morning ride to work we are left with a few light showers, and valley fog. 

Wednesday clouds will clear, becoming sunny during the mid to late afternoon hours. From this point we will enter a quiet period, with a one quick moving system during the day on Thursday that could pop up a few showers/ isolated thunderstorm. Ridge of high pressure will gain control late Thursday until mid Sunday. 

Temperatures will continue to rise this week to the low 80s come Thursday, then mid 80s for Friday and the weekend.
