Good morning everyone, expect a chilly start to your Thursday! Morning temperatures will kick off in the single digits with ‘feels like’ temperatures sub-zero for much of the day. An area of high pressure wil allow for continued sunshine, but this Arctic high pressure comes with the cooler weather. A steady northwest wind between 5 and 15 miles per hour will contribute to the over all bitter feeling. While high temperatures will reach the middle and upper teens to low 20s today, a wind chill value near zero is what it will feel like this afternoon. Dress warmly, and limit the amount of time you have your skin exposed. Doing so will lower your risk of developing frostbite.
Thursday night we are looking at variable cloud cover, with diminishing winds. Temperatures will once again settle to the single digits. Friday morning winds will begin to pick up, this time from the south. This will usher in warmer air from the south, steady wind at 5-15mph. With the steady advection of warmer air into our area, high temperatures will reach the mid 20s. Which is seasonable for late January. High pressure will still be in control, we are looking at another beautiful sunny day.
Our quiet weather will continue to stick with us through much of Saturday, this is when we are expecting more clouds to return. Mild weather will return as well, this weekend high temperatures will hit the low and middle 40s (that is 10 to 15 degrees above average). Sunday, the threat returns for additional shower activity as a frontal boundary approaches the region.
