As Hurricane Dorian barrels toward the southern U.S., many are scrambling to gather supplies and make the needed preparations to either evacuate or ride out the storm in their homes. With any natural disaster, preparation is key and this is equally true when it comes to the health and safety of family pets. Since September is National Disaster Preparedness month, Beth Sanborn spoke to an expert from the Vermont Veterinary Medical Association about steps you can take to ensure your pet’s safety as danger approaches as well as some tools every pet owner should have ready.
