July 3 festivities are right around the corner, bringing thousands to Burlington’s waterfront.

Burlington’s Parks and Recreation Department says there are lots of options, including trains from Charlotte, Shelburne and South Burlington. Tickets are $15 round-trip.

Since the festivities fall on a Sunday this year, metered parking and parking garages are free all day.

However, the Gary Rogers, Superintendent of Recreation for City of Burlington says parking at UVM Gutterson Field house lot is the most convenient option.

“The best thing about getting on the bus is that when the fireworks are over at 10:15 at night, we load up 14 busses filled with people and they get a police escort up the hill. So if you are parked at UVM and you’re on the ball, you can be off the Waterfront in ten minutes,” Rogers said.

The bus is $1.00 for a round trip.
