White River Post 84 American Legion Baseball plated nine runs in the first inning en route to a 12-7 victory against Essex Post 91 in the opening round of the “Punch Out Cancer” Tournament.
Another early game saw host team S.D. Ireland defeat the Brockville Bunnes 12-2 in six innings.
Brattleboro vs Clinton County and Adirondack vs Montpelier were both rained out.
Proceeds from the tournament benefit the S.D. Ireland Cancer Research Fund.
