Jake Schaefer has been a crucial part of the recent success of the CVU boys’ lacrosse team.
The senoir attackman amassed 14 points in the first two games of the season, and he has not slowed down, helping lead the Redhawks to an undefeated record through Wednesday.
His coach, Dave Trevithick has been impressed with his growth in his three seasons on varsity.
“He’s become a more mature player in understanding the way the entire team offense works. He’s got a really clear understanding of what his role is and that’s huge,” Trevithick explained.
Jake aspires to further the success of the program, aiming for a seventh-straight state championship, and what would be his third in a row.
“That’d be huge. We’re going to get there, hopefully. We’re working on it. We’re taking our steps and focusing on a game at a time until hopefully that time comes,” Schaefer said.
Jake plans to continue his education and lacrosse career at the University of Tampa.
