The Boston Bruins held the third annual Bruins fan fest in the Queen City on Sunday.
Bruins fans from all over New England showed up in Burlington to interact with players and fellow fans.
Two Bruins players, Zach Senyshyn and Trent Frederic met fans at the fest held at the UVM campus. The players signed autographs, took photos, and even answered fan questions on stage.
Young fans suited up and practiced being a goalie, while others took shots on the net. Members from the Vermont men’s hockey team also joined in to practice with the kids.
“It’s great. I mean we’re big Bruins fans! So, we get a big kick out of this. Plus, it gives you the incentive to go down to Boston and see some games or maybe catch them up in Montreal when they’re playing our arch enemies” said Bryan Bouchard.
Young fans were also very appreciative to the Bruins for making the trip. “It’s a great privilege to come here, and well I’ve met Patrice Bergeron and I would like to meet other players. It’s just a really great time hanging out here” said Julia Lubin.
Bruins forward Zach Senyshyn shared what it means to visit the fans in Vermont. “Definitely seeing the fans in Boston is one thing. But, to come to the neighboring cities and see how passionate they are, and how loud they are when we come here it’s truly an honor. I kind of lights a fire under us for the upcoming season for sure” said Senyshyn.
Trent Frederic also spoke about today’s fest in Burlington. “It’s been a good turn out, some nice weather here for today so it’s gonna be a good day. Met a lot of cool Bruins fans so it’s been a really good time” said Frederic.
