With only two teams left in the tournament in Vermont Brattleboro and S.D Ireland faced off on Wednesday for the state crown.

The tournament format is double elimination, undefeated S.D. Ireland could have won it all in game one. But, Brattleboro Post 5 didn’t let that happen.

Brattleboro opened up a quick lead and took down S.D. Ireland 9-6 in the first game of the day.

In the second game to decide the champion, Brattleboro won in a 5-2 final.

Post 5’s Jeremy Rounds was chosen as the tournament’s MVP. He batted .348, rallied in 7 runs, and was the winning pitcher for both games.

Brattleboro moves onto the Northeast Regional in Shrewsbury, Mass.
