Cyclones come out on top in tenth

The Cyclones made the Lake Monsters pay for a missed opportunity at Centennial Field on Friday.

Vermont designated hitter Marty Bechina grounded out with bases loaded in the ninth, and Brooklyn notched a run in the tenth to take a 2-1 win.

Cyclones outfielder Jake Mangum scored the deciding run on a fielder’s choice in the extra frame to snag the victory in the first game of the series.

Lake Monsters fell to 16-25 after the loss, and Brooklyn improved to 23-16.
