High school boys’ soccer highlights (Sept. 10)

The best of boys' soccer from around the region

The champs were in town on Tuesday as the reigning Div. I champion Champlain Valley Union boys’ soccer team visited the Mount Mansfield Cougars.

In a competitive game, the Redhawks eventually broke through late in the first half when Sam Johnson elevated for a twirling header goal. That stood as the lone goal of the match and lifted CVU to a 1-0 win over MMU.

Later in the day, Danville boys’ soccer traveled to Winooski to play the Spartans under the lights.

Winooski went to work right away. Lek Nath Luitel blasted a goal just two minutes into the game to give the Spartans the lead.

From there, Winooski commanded the match and unloaded on the Indians for a 15-0 win. Luitel netted a whopping six goals for the Spartans.
