High school tennis quarterfinals (May 30)


In South Burlington the No. 4 boys’ Wolves team hosted the No. 5 Middlebury Tigers in a quarterfinal match on Thursday. 

The Wolves have won six state titles in the past seven years. SBHS shutout Middlebury 7-0. 

In girls’ tennis, the four-time defending champion CVU Redhawks took down Essex ultimately 5-2. 

In singles, Dauerman (6-4,6-1) Gorman (7-6,6-2) Grant (6-1, 6-7, 10-8). In doubles, Vincent/Beer (6-0, 6-0) & Blanck/Boucher (6-2, 6-2) led CVU. The Redhawks advance to the semifinals on Tuesday.
