The Lake Monsters had a slow start to the game Wednesday night against Connecticut.
Vermont supplemented that sluggish start with one massive, game-winning inning.
The Monsters were trailing 4-0 in the bottom of the 6th inning when Nick Ward belted a three-run home run to spark a rally for Vermont.
The Lake Monsters scored six runs in the inning to come back and win the game 6-4, and force a split in the series with Connecticut.
The Monsters and Tigers face off in the series finale at Centennial Field Thursday night at 7:05 p.m.
