The Lake Monsters earned a much-needed win Wednesday night with a 10-2 triumph over Brooklyn at Centennial Field.
Vermont scored first as a result of a Marty Bechina two-run home run in the bottom of the first inning.
Logan Davidson added on with a solo shot in the following frame.
Then, Vermont exploded for five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on the way to the 10-2 win over the Cyclones.
Vermont and Brooklyn square off for Game 2 of the series Thursday at 7:05 p.m. at Centennial Field.
