Lake Monsters take down Tri-City for series sweep

Vermont picked up a win at Centennial Field on Saturday to start the season 2-0 for just the fourth time in team history, and the first time since 2007.

The Lake Monsters scored in the first for the second-straight game when Kevin Richards smashed a two-run homer in the bottom of the first, and the Monsters tallied a couple more to win 4-1.

Pitching once again delivered for Vermont, as starter Michael Murray sat down six and allowed just one run in the winning effort.

Vermont hits the road for a two-game stretch against the Connecticut Tigers on Sunday, June 16.
