The Lake Monsters are still undefeated at Centennial Field after a decisive 7-3 win over Hudson Valley Tuesday night.
Vermont was aggressive at the plate, starting with a lead-off, first-pitch home run from Nick Ward in the bottom of the first inning.
The Monsters built on that momentum by scoring four runs in the first frame. They continued the powerful offensive production in the second inning as Danny Bautista blasted a 396-foot triple to center field. Then, Jordan Diaz hit him home with a shot over the left field fence for a two-run home run.
Vermont mounted a 6-0 lead and finished the game on top, 7-3. The Lake Monsters improved to 4-1 on the season with the victory.
