Middlebury women’s soccer stays undefeated against Plattsburgh


Panthers shut out Cardinals in New York

Entering today’s contest both Middlebury and Plattsburgh State were undefeated.

The Cardinals hosted Middlebury for a non-conference matchup in New York.

In the fourteenth minute, Middlebury’s Olivia Miller launched a corner kick and Virginia Charman headed it in to the corner of the net. Panthers led 1-0.

With only three minutes until the second half, Middlebury’s Ellie Bavier found Leah Salzman who got tangled up with the keeper but broke free and poked in a second goal.

That’s all it took in New York as Middlebury defeated Plattsburgh State 2-0.

Middlebury improves to 4-0 and the Cardinals fall to 3-1.

The Panthers will be on the road facing Bowdoin on Saturday at 12 p.m.

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals will host Skidmore on Saturday at 3 p.m.
