Granite State snaps three-year Vermont win streak

New Hampshire held on to a first-quarter lead and took down Vermont in the 66th-annual Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl at Castleton University on Saturday.

N.H. quarterback Cody Potter (Windham High School) raced in for the opening score of what proved to be a very defensive first half, and New Hampshire added to the lead to get the 21-9 victory.

Vermont’s lone touchdown of the day came from a Ryan Moore (Rutland High School) toss to Jake Baker (Burr & Burton Academy) in the fourth quarter.

The victory pushed New Hampshire’s all-time record to 48-16-2, and also snapped a three-game Vermont win streak.
