The Norwich men and women are both headed to the NEHC Championship game. This is something the Cadets are used to. Both teams advanced to the Championship last year as well.
Norwich and Babson have won seven of the last nine NEHC tournament titles. In the first period after being tied 1-1. Scott Swanson ripped a shot and Norwich led 2-1.
Just five minutes later the Beavers chomped away at the Norwich defense. Matt Wiesner sent a backdoor finish to tie it 2-2.
With 30 seconds left, Taeron Lewis hit the puck ahead and Brett Ouderkirk tapped it home. The freshman put Norwich back in the lead 3-2.
In the third period, Gabriel Chicoine sniped the puck from the blue line to seal the game. 4-2 Cadets.
After an open-netter by Jordan Hall, Norwich took down Babson 5-3.
The Cadet women took down UMass Boston 3-2. The Cadets came into this matchup looking for their third Conference title.
The Beacons came out firing, in the first period Kaleigh Beauregard sliced in the one-timer. Beacons led 1-0.
In the second period, Amanda Conway flipped the puck to Sophie McGovern to score. Tied at 1-1.
Later in the second period, Beacons led 2-1. UMass lost possession and Brynn Wopperer sealed it up at 2-2.
In the third period, Kirsten Watts fired a shot and Shophie McGovern tipped it in for the game winner. Cadets won 3-2.
