Plattsburgh women’s hockey earns chance at glory


The Cardinals defeated Adrian in St. Thomas Academy Ice Arena on Friday to advance to their fifth NCAA championship game in six seasons.

Plattsburgh captain Courtney Moriarty netted two goals as her team prevailed in a 4-1 victory over the Bulldogs.

Sophomore forward Annie Katonka added three points off a goal and two assists, and took over the Division III scoring lead with her 31st tally of the season.

PSU advances to the championship against Hamline on Saturday, March 15 at 8p.m. The Pipers defeated Plattsburgh in last year’s NCAA third-place game.
