Before the first pitch is thrown at today’s Sox-Rays game, The Red Sox Foundation will introduce 210 high school graduates receiving college scholarships, including students from Vermont and New Hampshire.
The recipients of the $1,000 awards are students from New England (to exclude Massachusetts) who demonstrate “community service, academic performance, and financial aid eligibility”, according to a Red Sox press release.
Before the game, award winners will have the chance to conduct a #trashtag with Boston Mayor Marty Walsh’s office and the Boston Parks and Recreation Department. The group will pick up trash in five different public parks around the city.
