Saint Michael’s baseball splits double-header with Assumption

Sports

The Purple Knights responded to a game one loss and took the second game of a back-to-back against Assumption College on Sunday at Doc Jacobs Field.

SMC senior pitcher Max McDowell earned the first victory of his career with an eight-inning gem. The Essex Junction, Vermont native allowed just one run to capture the win in his first college season.

Sophomore catcher Julien Giroux-Harvey went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI for Saint Michael’s in the 6-1 triumph.

The Knights finally got a home win to close out a ten-game home stand, and improved to 6-18 this season.

Next up, SMC travels to Saint Anselm College for a clash on April 16 at 3:30 p.m.
