South Burlington takes Div. I baseball title

BURLINGTON, Vt. - South Burlington baseball won its first Division I state championship since 2007 with a 5-3 triumph over Colchester in Saturday's title game.

Ben Tate knocked in the winning pair of runs with a blooper down the right field line in the top of the fifth inning.

The Wolves emphasized the strength of the team's chemistry as a result of their long history of playing together. Many players on the South Burlington team played side-by-side as kids, even representing Vermont in the Little League World Series years back.
