On Saturday the Vermont Lake Monsters traded in their normal jerseys for the Maple Kings title. Vermont faced Staten Island for game two of a three game series.
After a scoreless three innings the Yankees scored on a fly ball and led 1-0. In the top of the seventh inning Leonardo Molina stepped up to the plate and lined the ball deep left. Ezequiel Duran scored as the Yankees led 2-0.
In the same inning with two men on, Mitchell Robinson knocked the ball towards short stop Logan Davidson but the throw to first was lost. Isaiah Pasteur scored as the Yankees led 3-0.
In the final inning, the rain hit Centennial and it didn’t help out the Maple Kings. With two outs and one man on, Jose Rivas let the ball fly deep into right field and Leonardo Molina made the catch to end it. Yankees took down the Maple Kings 3-0.
