Tanguy Nef claims men’s giant slalom national title

Dartmouth alpine skier Tanguy Nef was a force to be reconked with on the giant slalom on Thursday to take the men’s GS national title.

The junior swiss native dominated in the slalom last year to earn the national title. Now, this year he has claimed another title to put on his resume. Last year Nef was named the 2018 United States Collegiate Ski Coaches Association Male Alpine skier of the Year.

Nef bolted to the best second run with a time of 59.53 seconds. He was the only skier to break the one minute mark. Nef’s combined time was 1:56:10.

Nef wasn’t alone on  the men’s team. He was joined by Ferri in third and Duffy right behind in fourth as the three picked up 105 points, Dartmouth is now in first place with a total of 259 team points.

The competition continues Friday with nordic classical championships at Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe.
