UVM men’s hockey surges for win over New Hampshire

The Catamounts poured it on to earn a win over Hockey East rival New Hampshire in Gutterson Fieldhouse on Saturday night.

UVM senior forward Liam Coughlin opened scoring with a tally late in the first, but the game-winner went to freshman Johnny DeRoche in the 4-1 victory.

Vermont junior goalie Setfanos Lekkas continued his strong play in net with 31 saves and just one goal allowed.

The Cats pushed their record to 5-11-2 in the conference and 12-14-2 overall with the win, and UNH fell to 11-10-8 this season, 7-7-5 in the Hockey East.

Next, UVM travels to Northeastern on Friday for a weekend series against the Huskies.
