UVM women’s soccer notches opening night win

Catamounts blank Pioneers in season opener

The Vermont women’s soccer team earned its first win of the 2019 season thanks to a goal from a Vermont native, Natalie Durieux.

Durieux, a Champlain Valley Union alumna, netted the game’s only goal and the first of her career in the fifth minute of Friday’s season opener at Virtue Field, propelling the Catamounts to a 1-0 win over Sacred Heart.

Vermont improves to 1-0 on the season while the Pioneers drop to 0-1.

The Catamounts look to keep the wins coming as they travel to West Point, N.Y. to face Army on Sunday, August 25 at 1 p.m.
