New report details Vermont's housing affordability gap
WITH LESS DAYLIGHT IN THE WINTER MONTHS– IT’S IMPORTANT FOR DRIVERS TO BE ABLE TO SEE PEOPLE WALKING, RUNNING OR BIKING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THAT’S WHY THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH’S ‘WATCH FOR ME VT’ PROGRAM LAUNCHED A NEW INITIATIVE CALLED ‘BE BRIGHT AT NIGHT.’
In a community that prides itself on helping others, advocates say acceptance goes a long way in recovery. Two Johnson-based organizations came together to help people struggling with substance use disorders. Jenna's Promise and Two Sons Bakehouse opened Jenna's Coffeehouse, a place where people in recovery can live, and work.
From the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board, grant funds are available to farmers for projects that benefit water quality to help statewide clean water and sustainability efforts. Farmers that meet a certain criteria can apply through the Farm and Forest Viability Program's website.
A much needed project three years in the making is opening up in St. Albans Town next week. The brand new Town Hall will open on Monday. Town Manager Carrie Johnson says the old building, which was built in the 1800's, became unsafe for staff, leading them to move a half mile down the road.
