Good morning! Happy Friday!
Feeling waterlogged? Me too. But, I have some great news for you. We (gradually) dry up and clear out today with plenty of beautiful weekend weather on the way. Let’s break it down.
Friday morning finds us staring up at another overcast, gloomy sky. Those dark gray clouds will gradually clear throughout the day, allowing for a handful of late afternoon or early evening breaks of blue sky. Meanwhile, scattered, much lighter showers are still sticking around this morning, but generally diminish after midday. A stray PM shower or two, however, isn’t entirely out of the question.
The temp today reaches around 70 degrees, then stalls again. That makes for a very cool kickoff to summer. The Summer Solstice occurs at 11:54 AM Friday, bringing us into the new season at around 8-10 degrees below average. North breeze around 15 mph.
Tonight brings partly cloudy skies and perhaps a touch of fog. However, that brisk wind may keep fog development largely at bay. The temp falls into the mid to low 50s, with lower humidity, making for a night of more comfortable sleeping weather.
The weekend gets ‘two thumbs up’ in my book! It’s a mix of sun and afternoon clouds you will find Saturday. Most stay dry, but there is a slim chance for a brief shower or weak thunderstorm to pop up, especially over higher terrain and in the Northeast Kingdom. Top temp, mid 70s with a breezy northwest wind of 10-20 mph, gusting to around 30 mph. Sunday (and as a bonus, Monday, too) is mostly sunny and warmer, low 80s.
Have a great day and an awesome weekend! Stay safe!
