Weather: The chance for showers and thunderstorms isn’t over quite yet

What an active afternoon! Strong to even severe thunderstorm rolled through the region leave damage in their wake. Here are some of our 9 wind damage storm reports, from both Vermont and New York.

So what rolled through the region? It’s called a QLCS or Quasi-Linear Convective System, basically its a fancy word for a squall line, with gusty winds heavy rain and frequent lightning.

As of 8 pm, our threat for severe weather has moved out of the region, and the weather has quieted down for the evening. Overnight expect a warm and muggy evening with a few stray passing showers and temperatures falling to the mid 60’s

Here is how the rest of the week is shaping up:

Sunday: Partly sunny to start, scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Mid to upper 80’s

Monday: Partly sunny to start, scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Upper 80’s near 90°

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, less humid. Mid 80’s

Wednesday: A few passing showers. Mid 80’s
